Some would say that once you
retire you should lay back and take it easy. Not me, I retired from Charleston
Fire Dept where I worked as a Paramedic for almost 30 years. I look at retirement as a new beginning. A new beginning to do whatever I choose,
without worrying about having to fit it around a full work schedule.
Hi, my name is Becky and I
live in Mason County, West Virginia, with my husband Rodney and an assortment of
critters. We have 8 dogs – 3 Great
Pyrenees, 1 Labrador Retriever, 2 Chihuahuas, 1 small mixed dog and our recent
rescue. We also have several barn cats and of course
my goats.
I have always liked working outside on our property, mending fences, cleaning stalls and working with the animals. Being with the animals is a blessing I can’t explain. Working with God’s animals brings a peace and a purpose to one’s life.
So, as you can see, I have chosen to work with goats. After lots of studying and talking to many a goat person I have chosen the Alpine goat as my main breed. I truly enjoy the personality and strong will of the Alpines, we will match up fine.
My breedings' will be very selective keeping in mind that as I breed I will be looking to improve and build my herd. I want to produce lots of wonderful goat's milk, and make some great cheese for my family and I hope to learn to make goats milk soap.
As you look through my website, I hope you find it informative, interesting and that just maybe I will have what you are looking for. If so, feel free to contact me via the e-mail address provided.
